Making a difference together

The unexpected gift of kindness. One such gift has found its way to one Breckenridge, Minnesota resident. This gift is one that will keep on giving for years to come. While the Twin Towns have enjoyed an unseasonably warm fall, the reality will hit sooner rather than later. That reality is winter – cold, snowy and most of all, windy. Staying warm is a Southern Valley necessity. However, staying warm comes with a cost. No one knows that cost better than Bob Heiser, owner of Town and Country Heating Cooling and Refrigeration located in Breckenridge. Four months ago, Heiser became a Lennox HVAC dealer. He was a big fan of their products, but found even more reasons to appreciate the company. Gift this article “I found out they have a program called Feel the Love and we qualified to be a part of it,” Heiser said. “That really made me appreciate them as a company.” Feel The Love gives individuals and participating Lennox dealers an opportunity to come together, give back and improve lives of deserving people in their communities. Celebrating 15 years of giving back to deserving homeowners, the annual program partners with residential dealers across the U.S. and Canada to donate and install heating and cooling (HVAC) units for community heroes. “We teamed up with the radio (KBMW) and put out the word to get nominations for the program. They (Lennox) have certain things they want in the nomination process – people who give back, people who are in need and have done things for the community. We had seven applications,” Heiser said. Established in 2023 by Lennox, through these initiatives, the LII Lennox Foundation is committed to improving the communities where Lennox employees work and live with programs such as Feel The Love. “The nominations all had good stories – good things – it was hard to narrow down but we could only pick one recipient. The chosen recipient was nominated by her friends so she was unaware they did it on her behalf,” Heiser said. “We got to call and give her the great news that she had been chosen.” That winner was Breckenridge resident Dell Krueger. Heiser relayed that going to her residence to install a new heating and cooling system was a very good day for all involved. “It was a good feeling for us both, my team and her (Krueger) to be a part of this,” Heiser said. “Its nice to show up for once and not give bad news to someone – as that happens a lot in the HVAC business.” The Feel The Love program is supported by the collaborative efforts of the LII Lennox Foundation and the generous network of Lennox dealers across North America. Since its launch in 2009, Feel The Love has installed over 2,300 heating and cooling systems for homeowners in need and over $12.6 million in donated materials. Heiser’s team was able to install the donated HVAC unit in Krueger’s home before winter weather was here. “Lennox donated the equipment and my business donated our time and materials needed to complete the project. We were able to finish in one day,” Heiser said. “These types of things are what makes me want to be a Lennox dealer. They as a company are big on giving back, they care about us as dealers and the people in our communities.” Heiser expressed his gratitude for those who nominated the deserving individuals for the program. “Knowing some of the people and all the good they do – it all comes full circle. And thinking how this can take some stress off of even one person, that is great too,” Heiser said. “Next year we will be able to do three recipients for the program – one in each North Dakota, South Dakota and Minnesota – we know the response is good and we are excited to participate next year.” Lennox shared the following sentiments “We believe that everyone should feel safe and comfortable in their home. We’re dedicated to giving those in need the perfect air they deserve.”
